What the Autism Studies Show Isn't Reflected in What the Candidates Say

Two leading presidential candidates have now wandered into an exceptionally emotional medical debate in which they have no known scientific expertise. Yet again politicians using people with a "difference" for their own selfish purposes.

Notice how autism has once again been [mis] quoted as an "illness".


I saw a signature on a forum a while back :" All autism will end when they stop innoculating our kids"............. have these people never read Kanner and Asperger? Can they not see that it is a simple fact that autism has been with us since the dawn of time,long before MMR or any other form of medication/vaccine/innoculation?

Week after week there are articles about the "autism epidemic"...... the percentage figures have never changed, there is no epidemic, diagnosis ,awareness and recognition have improved and the media give a greater coverage is what has changed.

Blame, denial and compensation culture are the cause of these campaigns, vulnerable parents beeing whipped in to action by those who will make large amounts of cash from the legal battles .

There are also groups in the USA that claim autism is caused by mercury in the environment/diet/fillings etc and "detoxifying " children guarantees a "cure".

It also seems that Lyme disease is now touted as being the cause of autism and "over 93% of autistic children also have Lyme"........ utter rubbish!
